World Cup 2010, South Africa

Caesarstone is proud to be part of Durban’s 70,000 seat award-winning Moses Mabhida Stadium, constructed especially for the 2010 World Cup. Caesarstone surfaces, provided by International Slab Sales (ISS), Caesarstone's South Africa distributor, were installed in the main foyer and in the prestigious VIP Hospitality suites and their reception areas.

 Overcoming Every Challenge

Designed to serve some 7,500 VIP guests, the foyer, the fully equipped suites, bars and buffets, seats, tables and display cases are adorned throughout with Caesarstone slabs in 2141, 2220, and 4350. Every edge had to be built up to 50mm, which meant that 3,500 meters of mitred edge had to be produced in 3 months – no small feat.
The stadium was built by the Ibhola Lethu Consortium (ILC), with the fabrication work done by Afrigran of Durban, one of South Africa’s largest fabricators. "ILC was ecstatic with the Caesarstone surfaces and the quality of the supply" says Clive Shiller, CEO of Afrigran of Durban. "We have exceeded their expectations in every way - our quality and high standards were maintained even under the extremely tight time limits."
