Jazz Hotel & Home

17/07/2020

Interior design angel and managing director of Jazz Hotel & Home, Amanda Beazley has a passion for Caesarstone® and working closely with her clients to help turn houses and apartments into dream homes, whether it’s a property make-over, a new build or a renovation.

A graduate of one of Italy’s most respected design schools, Amanda and her team know how to help clients find a design that reflects their unique personality and lifestyle.

Most recently, completing a luxurious home refurbishment for clients wanting to introduce their design style before moving into their new property purchase.

The Design:

The brief – “showcase the homes amazing 270-degree views from Bondi to Sydney CBD and incorporate their favourite colours, blue and orange.”

“The owners wanted a modern look with touches of industrial style while still making the home warm and inviting. As we were retaining the existing floors we had to find other ways to bring in warmth to the design,” explains Sarah, “Our clients also wanted to showcase their travel-inspired collectables ensuring the house felt like their home and not a ‘show home’”.

The Challenges:

All projects have their challenges, and being located on a cliff face, wrapped around a heritage Norfolk Pine tree with limited and narrow access to the kitchen, which also happened to be found at the end of a spiral staircase, was a minor issue for Amanda’s team and certainly not one to curtail their design ideas.

The Design Style:

On entry to the home, the new interior design elements now accentuate the fantastic views. Accents of blue and burnt orange highlight the blue ocean and the tiled rooftops spanning beneath the property.

The home exudes the coveted feeling of warmth and sophistication with a few edgy pieces giving it a modern feel and textural elements contributing interest and warmth.

“For the Kitchen, we used a striking one side black and one side white cabinetry and a timber veneer for warmth. Our showcase piece is the 2800 mm x 1400 mm centre island bench in the amazing Caesarstone® Excava™ stone.”

“I could not go past the amazing textural feel and the rust veins in the Excava stone. We used the colours that run through the stone as our accents throughout the living and dining room spaces; it was part of our original inspiration for the kitchen”.

“When it was time to install the beautiful Excava kitchen benchtops, given the access problems facing us, the solution was to lift the three 1.5 metre stone slabs from the road down the face of the building and into the balcony.” Genius!

“The rust veins of the Excava highlight the burnt orange accents throughout the lounge and dining areas. It brings in the industrial feel the clients were hoping for,” explains Sarah.

“Above the island bench, we used a feature light with tan leather straps and a Caesarstone® Organic White™ benchtop and splashback on the white side of the kitchen. We continued the Organic White into the bathroom vanities for a beautiful contrast.”

In the living area, Amanda designed a custom-made fireplace which draws the eye from the kitchen to the lounge complementing the timber veneer accents. The three-metre living tile facia highlights the patinas of the Excava stone for another layer of texture.

“We trust and know Caesarstone, so with a project of this nature, it was important to use a product we could trust. That and the unique look of the Excava; meant it was an essential part of the design.”
